Sarega’s endorsement shows strong support in Anaheim and puts him as the front-runner for the council seat in District 5.
Anaheim, CA – The Anaheim Police Association (APA), who represent the city’s 420 dedicated and highly trained officers, have announced their endorsement of Andrew Sarega for Anaheim City Council, District 5. Sarega, a dedicated public servant with extensive experience in law enforcement and public administration, has earned the APA's support for his unwavering commitment to public safety.
"The APA's endorsement underscores my unwavering commitment to public safety," says Sarega. "Having witnessed the challenges our law enforcement officers face daily, I am determined to ensure they receive the necessary support and resources to protect our community effectively."
As a first-generation American, Sarega understands the challenges of starting from nothing. His parents, who fled Communist Romania, instilled in him the values of faith, family, and community. These values have guided him throughout his life and career.
Sarega began his career as a public servant in law enforcement, serving as a police officer in Newport Beach. His frontline experiences have provided him with a profound understanding of public safety and community support. Following a career-ending injury, he transitioned to public office, where he has gained over 11 years of experience in local government. Sarega holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, a master’s degree in public administration, and a Juris Doctor, giving him a robust educational background to complement his practical experience.
Sarega lives in Anaheim with his wife, Susan, and is deeply connected to the community. His family continues to serve Anaheim, with his brother working as a police detective and his sister as a nurse at West Anaheim Medical Center.
